The exhausting theatre of US caps-lock diplomacy

us election cycle
Bored yet?

The show must go on.

The US, directly involved in the unlawful and anti-constitutional attack on Iran by its proxy, Israel, announces the direct involvement of its involvement in the war against Iran – an "act of escalation" according to sources close to the matter – by allegedly bombing bombed facilities in Iran. Maximum all-caps force was deployed, a clear indication of the gravity of the situation.

It would be funny if it weren't so dangerous. It would be tragic if one could believe anything one read from the Halls of Power these days. Or perhaps that is precisely why it is so tragic.

I contacted a trusted source for a dose of sobriety.

"An act of theater.

"Trump’s big mouth had boxed him into a corner.

"Iran wouldn’t play his game.

"So he had to bomb Iran to save face.

"He bombed two empty facilities that had been previously struck by Israel.

"And he bounced six bombs off an indestructible facility (Firdos), claiming destruction despite the opposite being the case.

"That’s it.

"A “contained” strike.

"A nothing burger.

"And this is the man whose supporters call the greatest leader in the world.

"He’s a national disgrace." – Scott Ritter

A moving poem, I hope you'll agree.

Meanwhile in Gaza, the slaughter of innocents grinds on. In The West, the cynicism grinds on. Or yawns on, lurching from distraction to distraction like a wearied Frankenstein.
